Góraszka 2007

zdj

On June 15-16, 2007 International Aviation Picnic in Góraszka was held for the 12th time in history. The event was organized by “Polskie Orły” Foundation.

For the first time, Polish Air Navigational Services Agency presented its tasks and activity scope by itself. PANSA’s stall met large interest of the public. On our exhibition stand the visitors could learn about air traffic controllers’ job, see radar figuration, watch a film about air traffic services history, and obtain detailed information about work in the Agency.

Training and examination programs department representatives informed about stages and rules of the recruitment process for people who apply for the air traffic controller licence. Everyone interested in work for PANSA could fill in the personal form and give it directly to the recruiting personnel. More than 3000 people visited our stand during the picnic.

Among the aircrafts, which appeared on the show in Góraszka, we could see historical fighter aircrafts (World War II veterans) including P-51 D Mustang, one of the greatest fighters from that period of time. American B-25 bomber, a model known from “Pearl Harbor” motion picture, which turned up in Poland for the first time, also met with great visitors’ interest. This aircraft is an adornment of numerous air shows and it is used in making historic movies very often.

One of the hits of the Góraszka picnic was “Biało-Czerwone Iskry” Polish Air Force acrobatic team’s show. The team demonstrated numerous loops, somersaults, lay-bys, and spectacular separation figures underlined with white and red smoke getting out from the traces.

The maneuvers of three red Zlins from Grupa Akrobacyjna Żelazny were also a thrill. Loops and risky lay-bys on a very low altitude raised delight exclamations and standing ovation. They also performed “the mirror reflection” – two aircrafts flying one above another, with one of them flying upside-down, and “the shelf” – the flight of three aircrafts, situated directly one under another in a very short distance.

We could also watch German helicopters’ performance: Bölkow Bö-105, Bell UH-1D and Eurocoptera EC-135. They are the representatives of a small group of choppers which are technically able to make loops.

The foreign visitors who attracted our attention were Swedish aerobatics group Scandinavian Airshow. They presented “wingwalking” performance, in which two women acted various acrobatic figures, strapped to the wings.
